Our Pastor
Fr. Hamish Currie was appointed Pastor of St. Jerome Parish in September, 2000. A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Fr. Hamish has served in various positions in the Diocese. Following university studies, he entered St. Augustine Seminary and the Toronto School of Theology. Ordained to the priesthood April 25, 1980, Father has served in Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa and Hanmer as parish priest and in Elliot Lake as Addiction Counsellor.
Father has served in the Diocese as Coordinator of Liturgy, and is currently the Chairperson of the Council of Priests and a member of the College of Consulters. Also active in the National Federation of Presbyteral Councils, he has recently re-elected President for a two year term.
In his spare time Fr. Hamish enjoys gardening, playing second violin in the Sault Symphony and enjoying the company of his randomly bred canine companion Freckles.
